Described by the New York Times as a duo with a “...burnished sound and keenly attuned phrasing,” violinist Caroline Chin and cellist Brian Snow will be releasing the world premiere CD of Tre Duetti by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Elliott Carter for Centaur Records. Also included on the CD is Four Lauds for Solo Violin and Figments 1 & 2 for Solo Cello.
Widely regarded as the one of the greatest composers of the 20th and 21st century, Elliott Carter (1908-2012) is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer from New York City.
The recording took place at the prestigious Academy of Arts and Letters in New York and with producer/engineer Judith Sherman, three-time winner of Classical Producer of the Year. Her recordings in the field of contemporary classical music have been particularly noted, including work with the music of Elliott Carter.
